• Pictures posted on eBay shouldn’t be stock Chanel photos. Pictures should be of the actual Chanel product itself.
• Figure delivery costs into your Chanel product’s final price. If you’re spending a lot on your Chanel the seller should insure it when it ships.
• Ask for information about the Chanel being sold by clicking the “Ask seller a question” link under the seller’s profile.

Dads are NOT easy to buy for. Generally there are two kinds of dads in the world: the Dad who doesn’t want anything because he buys everything himself and the Dad who doesn’t want anything because he prefers the thing he’s already had for 30 years. My dad falls into the second category.

It’s not that my dad doesn’t have or like nice things, he just doesn’t see the need for new nice things, so as his birthday was quickly approaching this year I found myself stumped: what to get dad?

Grandpa’s Watch

I remember grandpa’s gold pocket watch. He’d wear the watch on special occasions. Grandpa wore the watch for style rather than utility. Grandpa was a fisherman. He didn’t give a damn about time and had no use for a watch. Nonetheless, he wore that watch. Even in his wedding picture you can see the watch chain peeking from his vest.

Rumor has it grandpa got his gold watch before coming to America. Rumor has it said watch was a trade. Rumor has it grandpa was bootlegging and the watch was payment. That old pocket watch looks great! That watch looks as good as the day grandpa traded it for his homemade liquor. My dad was really happy to see the watch restored. It meant a lot to him and that meant a lot to me.

There are many different watch bands to choose from including gold, silver and platinum, aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, leather, plastic and rubber among others.  Whatever your preference, remember that if you buy a watch face you like with a plastic or leather band, you can always switch the band with one you love!

There are lots of little extras a watch may have.  Some watches have calendars which display the day and date whereas others may display the month as well.  Chronographs act as a stopwatch whereas a tachymeter scale measures average speed.  You can buy a watch with a moonphase indicator which will show you the phase of the moon on the face of your watch, or have your watch chime the time with a repeater when you press a button.  A tourbillon reduces potential errors in time, a telemeter scale measures the distance between visual and auditory occurrences (such as the distance between a gunshot and lightening), and a world time watch will tell you the time all over the world.  Of course, don’t forget water resistance.  These days you can buy a watch that is water resistant up to 200 meters!  With all these options, pick the ones that are most important to you and start shopping!
